Matte Monday: Dress Me Up...

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Today is another installment of Matte Monday here on the blog!  I am enjoying this so much!  I have somewhat become addicted to OPI's Matte Top coat.  I love the super chalky finish it gives me.

Mani Ingredients
Base colors-China Glaze Dress Me Up and Sally Hansen Celeb City
Glitter accents-Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty
Image plates-Essence and Pueen22
Stamping polish-Kleancolor Black
Studs-Ebay
Top coats-OPI Matte Top Coat and Seche Vite

I enjoyed this combo.  I really like the look of mixing matte top coats with glossy top coats.  I think it adds interest to the mani.  I also love Dress Me Up matte.  Dress Me Up is also another untried.  I think it looks chic matte.  It is a very glossy polish without top coat though.

What are your favorite colors or polishes to use a matte top coat on??  Thanks for stopping by!

Fall is in the air...

Hello everyone!  I have my first fall inspired mani today!  For those of you who do not know fall is my favorite season!  I love that I can wear cute layers of clothing!  I love to wear jackets or cardigans or any type of clothing I can layer!  Anyway I have been itching to use some of these copper colored glitters  I have purchased.  I went crazy in Sephora when I saw they had their polishes 3 for $10!  I love Sephora's glitters and I purchased every chunky glitter (and a whole bunch of creams that caught my eye) that they had!  I have so many coming up for you!

Mani Ingredients
Base colors-Sephora Give Peach a Chance and Sally Hansen Shiny Penny
Glitter accent-Sephora Don't be Eggnog-ious
Stamping polish-Kleancolor Metallic Mango
Image plate-Bundle Monster BMH11
Top coat-Seche Vite

I love the way this turned out!  I have really been loving soft peachy nude polishes!  I finally got around to putting it on my nails instead of just admiring it on others nails!

What is your favorite season?  Are you ready for fall??  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Turquoise Stone Nails...

Hello all!  I hope everyone is having a good day!  I know you have seen some of the stone nails floating around if you follow blogs or watch YouTube videos!  Well I have been obsessed with the look but I dislike the process.  I am not a fan of heavy clean up as I can barely carve out time to paint my nails and stamp.  I like quick to the point manis!  I then remembered I had a squiggly stamp that may do the trick and look like the water spotted technique.  Let's see if it worked...

Mani Ingredients
Base color-China Glaze For Audrey
Flakie accent- Nubar 2010
Stamping polish-Kleancolor Black
Image plate-m70 (dupe)
Top coat-Seche Vite

I absolutely love how this looks!  I thought about matting it to really bring out those flakies but I will save that for a later date.  I have many color combo's in my head for this technique and I plan to use them!  Below is my inspiration picture.

Have you tried the water spotted technique??  What colors do you like for the stone nails??  Thanks for stopping by!

Matte Monday: Casino Machine...

Hello everyone!  How was your weekend??  I hope it was great!  I another matte mani for you today!  I have slightly become obsessed with purchasing matte top coats.  Today I will feature a matte top coat that I just purchased.  I did not know Orly had a matte top coat so I was happy when I found it!

Mani Ingredients
Base colors-Sally Hansen Sheer Bliss and Spoiled Shuffle the Deck
Stamping polish-Kleancolor Metallic Red
Image plate-Cheeky CH39
Top coat-Orly Matte Top Coat

I thought this turned out cute!  I was a bit turned off that the glitter base turned my base pink.  It was white. Oh well! I still think it turned out cute! Have you tried the Orly matte top coat?? Thanks for stopping by!

Aloha!!

Hello everyone!  I hope your having a great day!  Today I have a Hawaii inspired mani for you!  This is also a review for a plate I was sent for review from KkCenterHk.  I was also sent this stamper and scraper.  All things worked beautifully.  If you have not purchased from this company yet you are seriously missing out.  I have ordered some super cute rose water decals!  I can't wait to get them!  Water decals are really popular right now and people are doing some amazing things with them.  I love these blogger's that are mixing the decals with stamping and other nail art!  So creative and it looks much more detailed.  When I stamp I want my nail art to look like the nail stickers so adding those elements is awesome!  When I saw those rose decals I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them.  Stay tuned for that!

Mani Ingredients
Base polish-Orly Dayglow, China Glaze Sun Worshiper and Japanese Koi
Glitter accents-Hard Candy Black Tie Optional
Image plate-m30 from KkCenterHk
Stamping polishes-Konad White and Kleancolor Black
Top coat-Seche Vite

I love how this turned out!  Sad to say but both China Glaze polishes are untried.  I really love Japanese Koi!  It is such a dark vibrant neon and I am in love!  I have had it like everything else for quite some time and I regret not using this!  I think it will look great on my toes!   I promise not to let my feet make any appearances.  LOL!

As always feel free to use the code "manisbymoore" to get 10% off your order.  The prices are so cheap anyway so using the code makes them super cheap!  Have you ever ordered from KkCenterHk??  What catches your eye from the website??  Thanks for stopping by!

Chanel Inspired Mani...

Hello everyone!  I hope everyone is doing well!  I have a super cute mani for you today!  I feel like I always say that but I do!  LOL!  I have been trying to use some of my colors I have that are untried.  I have far too many!  I always feel like I am basically going to die if I don't have certain colors and then take forever to use them.  Why do I do that??  It's like I just want to be able to say or know that I have the certain polish.  Weird... I know I know.

Mani Ingredients
Base polishes-China Glaze Sexy in the City, Sally Hansen Celeb City and Zoya Dahlia
Glitter accent-Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty
Stamping polishes-Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Kleancolor Black
Image plates-KD12 and QA24
Top coat-Seche Vite

I love the blingy nails!  I have been stamping for over four years and I still have trouble lining up the images to where I want them to go.  The way I hide the fact that I struggle with lining up the images is I always slightly tilt them.  You don't have to be accurate with a tilted image right??  I hope you are not tired of seeing turquoise and black nails.  I feel that I use these colors so much.  I looked back in my color combos and I guess this combo is my favorite!  LOL!

Any tips for lining up single stamped images??  Do you have a technique that works for you??  Thanks for stopping by!

Matte Monday: Bronze Bubbles...

Hello everyone!  Hopefully your weekend was filled with rest, accomplishment (people who need to catch up on house work or school work), weekend football games (Big Brother had his first football game this weekend) or whatever else I didn't mention.  In keeping up with trying to get control over this mountain of untried that seems to keep increasing instead of decreasing this base polish is yet another untried!  At least this one was super cheap on the markdown rack at Sally's and I think I can stamp with this.  I need to try it out!

Mani Ingredients
Base color-Finger Paints Take It or Leaf It
Stamping polish-Petities Plum Frost
Image plate-Konad m85
Top coat-OPI Matte Top Coat

Let me say this OPI Matte Top Coat is by far my favorite matte top coat I have ever used.  When I want to use a matte top coat I like it to look chalky.  Like super matte.  I don't know if you saw the Bright Love mani I did but the Salon Perfect Matte top coat looks more waxy to me.  Which I like but wasn't what I wanted for that mani.  You can see that mani here.

What finish do you like in a matte top coat??  Have you tried the OPI Matte Top Coat??  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Holographic Swirls...

Hey everyone!  I hope everyone is enjoying their day!  Today I have some holographic goodness for you!  I love my Color Club Holographic polishes but I have problems with them chipping extremely fast.  Do you have that problem??

Mani Ingredients
Base polish-Color Club Over the Moon and Essie Aruba Blue
Image plate-Nailz Craze NC 02
Stamping polish-Color Club Over the Moon
Top coat-Seche Vite

These Color Club Holographics are absolutely beautiful!  Even without the sun making the rainbows glow it is beautiful!  No streaks, wonderful for stamping and almost one coaters!  I wish they wouldn't chip so quickly on me.  I do love the way they stamp!  They are so bold and beautiful and then when you catch the light just right you get beautiful rainbows that melt you heart!  I love the look of holographic nail polish!

So what tips do you have to make my holo's last longer on my nails??  What is your favorite holographic nail polish??  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Matte Monday: Sparkly Super Girl...

Hey everyone!  I hope you are having a great day!  Today Matte Monday is also a review for some water decals from the lovely KkCenterHk.  I love all of the items in their store!  Very cheap also!  They sent me a few things to review but today I will review these water decals!  I actually have two manis to show you with these decals!  I am embarrassed to say I have several water decals but have never used them.  I know...I know.  I am glad I waited because the experience I had with these was amazing!

Mani Ingredients
Base polishes-Illamasqua Vice and Sally Hansen Celeb City
Glitter accents-OPI Servin' Up Sparkle
Water decals-KkCenterHk
Top Coat-OPI Matte Top coat

I love these water decals!  The look of the silver with the matte top coat is just beautiful to me.  I think it pops off the base color so well!  On the pack of water decals you get some great super hero decals.  There are Superman, Super Girl, Batman, Flash and lighting bolts.  I may or may not have did a Batman mani.  Only time will tell.  LOL!  You all know I love my stamps but I can't find any super hero stamps so these were right up my alley!  Don't forget you can use "manisbymoore" for 10% off your order!

Have you purchased anything from KkCenterHk??  What do you think of these super hero decals??  Thanks for stopping by!

Image plates-Cheeky CH12 and bornprettystore.com m78

I love how cute these are!  I should have used a brighter yellow in my flowers.  I was surprised at how sheer the yellow actually was because it is super thick in the bottle.

What polishes do you have your eyes on this fall??  Which collections do you suggest??  Thanks for stopping by!

Liebster Award...

Hello everyone!  I have been nominated by the lovely Nail Snail.  She always leaves the sweetest comments for me and I truly appreciate that!  I am not going to nominate anyone in particular but I would love for everyone reading this to answer these questions on their blog and let me know so I can check it out!  I tried to make this a bit interesting by putting my own little twist on this...

1. What is your favorite nail polish (sorry, I know it's a super hard question)?
Uhhh...yeah super hard question.  At this moment in time my favorite is Tantalize Me by China Glaze.  I love the slight duo chrome effect and the color is amazing!

Or China Glaze Shocking Pink...

Or China Glaze Four Leaf Clover...

I don't think I answered the question with just one polish.  What polish fanatic can answer this honestly??

2. What other hobbies do you have, besides nail polish?
My main hobby is reading...I love to read!  I have not had time to do it as much as I would like to but I do love to read.  Carl Weber is my favorite author!  I will be getting into his new book as soon as possible!

3. In your opinion, what is the best mani you've ever done?
My merge or melt mani.  I loved it!

4. How did you come up with your blog name?
My old boss encouraged me to start a blog.  She is an elementary school principal so she encouraged me to do something with alliteration.  Moore is my last name and of course I was doing manicures.  I never actually call them manicures so I shortened the word to manis!
5. What is your favorite flower?
I love hibiscus flowers.  I have never had one in real life but I love my stamps with hibiscus flower images.
6. What is the accomplishment you're most proud of?
My bachelors degree!  My grandmother has 12 kids and none of them graduated college!  I was the first one out of my family to graduate with my degree and I am so proud of myself for that.  I was huge and pregnant when I graduated but I was so proud of myself and glad that I can show my boys that I did it!

7. Who is your favorite composer?
Uhhhh...pass??
8. What's your favorite board game?
Is Guess Who a board game??  I love playing that!  Or Battleship!
9. What sports do you like to watch/what are your favorite teams?
My favorite sport is basketball!  I love Carmello Anthony!  He is my favorite player.  However, my Thunder fans are going to be mad but my favorite team is Miami Heat.  (I will never admit that to my hubby! LOL!)  I love to watch them play.  I am also the type of person that loves what most people dislike.  It seems that everyone I know is always hating on the Heat!  So...of course I have to like them!

10. What would be your idea of a dream vacation?
I would love to take a cruise with my family.  Anywhere would be fine for about a week.  I want to also not have any electronics.  I just want to spend time with my family and have fun with no worries.
11. Do you like country music? And if you do, do you agree that Blake Shelton has a bit of a monopoly over the country radio stations?
Yes I like country music.  People look at me weird when they hear the songs on my mp3 player.  I really only know older country songs like Strawberry Wine by Deanna Carter and Don't Take the Girl by Tim McGraw.(Don't judge me.  LOL!)  I am not sure who Blake Shelton is...

I enjoyed answering these questions.  I tried to add a few pictures to jazz this post up a bit!  Anyone who wants to do this please do so!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Matte Monday: Bright Love...

Hello everyone!  I am so excited about my new series coming to my blog!  As I am sure you have noticed by the title I will be doing Matte Monday on the blog on Monday.  Now I may not do it every Monday.  If I am doing a challenge or something I may miss a week or however many depending on what is going on in my life.  My hope is to do this each Monday though.  I was going thru my stash finally getting ready for a major blog sale and I noticed I have so many different types of matte top coats.  Truthfully I have only used matte nail polish twice and once on my blog.  I know...I know.  I am so unsure of what will look good matte.  So this feature will be a way to challenge that.  Since I have talked so much  (I am trying to stop doing so much of that) I will leave you with a cute little mani I threw together.

Mani Ingredients
Base colors-Sinful Colors 24/7 and Queen of Beauty, Sally Hansen Celeb City and Kleancolor Kawaii Stuff
Stamping polishes-Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Kleancolor Kawaii Stuff and Black
Image plates-Konad m95, Pueen 04 and Gals GA18
Top coats-Seche Vite and Salon Perfect Matte FX

What matte top coats have you tried??  What are your favorites??  Thanks so much for stopping by!
